Association of Accredited Clowns (AOAC)
Incorporated December 21, 2009 Corporate Access Number: 5015081390
Objective: To encourage, recognize and promote excellence in the Art of Clowning,
by providing a curriculum that will standardize the level of professional clowns.
Welcome to the website for the Association of Accredited Clowns (AOAC).
An Accredited Clown is a clown who has successfully completed the courses and requirements prescribed by the AOAC Board. It takes many hours of training and years of practical experience to achieve this status.
Clowning is an art; there’s more to it than slapping on a wig and acting silly. Accredited clowns have been found to meet high standards in costume and makeup, in entertainment value, and in professional ethics. Each clown has the training and experience to do whatever types of entertainment he or she specializes in, which may include birthday shows, balloon animals, comedy magic, face painting, juggling and more. Accredited Clowns have the training and experience to do it well. We want to elevate the standards of clowning and help protect consumers from hiring unsuitable performers who are amateurish or inappropriate — so we started the accreditation program.
Why hire an Accredited Clown?
• You are hiring a clown who has gone through a very extensive well-rounded training programme to become the best they can be.
• You are getting a clown with proven experience.
• Accredited clowns have had a police check, which is a wise thing to do when you invite strangers in to your home.
